Pokémon KO Battle Simulator
Turn-based battle engine powered by live PokéAPI data
🔴 Problem
Most Pokémon fan sites display static data. I wanted to build something genuinely interactive — a battle system where moves, HP, and outcomes are driven by real game data, not hardcoded values.
🔵 Approach
Fetched live Pokémon stats and move data from the PokéAPI using async/await. Built a turn-based engine in vanilla JS handling damage calculation, type effectiveness, and KO logic. Designed animated HP bars that react to live state changes.
🟢 Result
A fully playable simulator with dynamic Pokémon selection, live HP tracking, and move-based damage. Sharpened async/await, API error handling, and stateful DOM management — all without a framework.
